Material
Aluminum 7065T6 is a very lightweight
and strong material used extensively in the aerospace, automotive,
and ofcourse, motorcycle industries. Aluminum is a wise choice
due to its excellent strength to weightratio, corrosion resistance,
and clean look. We use lightweight thin-wall extruded 7065 aluminum
alloy made exclusively by one of the leading Germanaluminum
producers for Barracuda, which is heattreated to a T-6 condition
for increased strength, durability, hardness, and finish hold.After
the aluminum has been heat treated, it is cut to length and
given a polished to a high glossy effect.
Ounce for ounce aluminum is the best value of all our Barracuda
Series mufflers.
As a rule our aluminum mufflers
weigh about 8.3oz. more than Carbon.
Canister Sleeve Material
by weight titanium is one of theworld’s strongest readily
available metals, making it ideal for our mufflers. It is 45%
lighter than steel with comparable strength, and twice as strong
as aluminum while being only 60% heavier. That’s right
titanium is HEAVIER than aluminum, but since it is twice as
strong we are
able to use very thin (.024”) material to construct our
Titanium muffler. The result is a muffler that is about 8.3oz.
lighter than our aluminum mufflers. Titanium has become an industry
standard for motorcycle mufflers due to its durability, corrosion
resistance,
lightweight, and factory loocut to length and given a polished
to a high glossy effect.
Removable DB Killer muffler
If you want to quiet your system with a Street and road legalmuffler,
then the Barracuda DB Killer is what you need. The DB Killer
acts as both a noise dampener, quieting the bike to ECE Approved
decibels and also as a spark arrestor for trail riding. This
tip mutes the exhaust tone.
Sandwich technology of the muffler.In addition to the inner
core, the interior muffler contains a Mesh-wool sandwich, which
preventsexcessive combustion of the muffler packing under heavier
loading.
Bolton flange
CNC machined made out of superlite
7065T6 Hitec aluminum. With a weight difference ofover 250 grams.
The flange is made out of one piece. Add one of our Bolt on
exhaust systemsand turn on the power by adding up to 4.5hp.
This system will replace just the canister on yourbike.
Slip-on
Muffler and inner sleeves and
joint tubes and link pipes are independent. Therefore the tubes
are “free floating” and are attached using the comfortable
Quick Access Spring system.Stress on the material due to engine
vibration is reduced to a minimum.
Barracuda Header tubes
are made from stainless steel
using latest German tube forming and bending machines. The process
of using differentdiameters ensures that the header design develops
the ultimate gas flow, while reducing turbulence of the gases.
With many of our systems the tubes are “free flaoting”
and are attached using the comfortable Quick AccessSpring system.
Stress on the material due to engine vibration is reduced to
a minimum.
